Bu ünite 'Life in the World with Basic Food Types' konusunu işler. Yiyecek ve içecek adlarını iki gruba ayırırız: sayılabilenler (countable) ve sayılamayanlar (uncountable). Bu ayrım a/an, some, any, How many ve How much kullanımının temelidir. Kuralları öğrendikçe hem dinlerken hem okurken hem de konuşurken cümlelerin daha doğal olur. Temel Kavramlar
Countable nouns sayılabilen isimlerdir. Tekili a/an ile, çoğulu genellikle -s ya da -es eki ile kullanılır. Uncountable nouns ise tek tek sayılmayan isimlerdir; çoğul eki almaz ve a/an ile kullanılmaz.

Uncountable isimleri ölçü kabıyla sayabilirsin: a glass of water, a bottle of milk, a bowl of rice, a slice of bread, a piece of cheese, a cup of tea.
Kelimeler hangi isimle kullanılacağını gösterir. Olumlu cümlelerde some, olumsuz ve soru cümlelerinde any tercih edilir.

- There is some cheese. / There isn't any cheese.

- Is there any milk? Yes, there is. / No, there isn't.
- Are there any eggs? Yes, there are. / No, there aren't.
Telaffuz (P1): Çoğul -s eki üç şekilde okunur: /s/ (carrots), /z/ (apples, eggs), /ɪz/ (sandwiches, oranges). 'a' ve 'some' gibi zayıf biçimleri vurgusuz söylemeyi dinleyerek öğren.
- Dinleme/İzleme: Önce başlığa ve resimlere bakıp tahmin yap; some, any ve a bottle of gibi miktar ifadelerini not et.
- Okuma: Metindeki food kelimelerinin altını çiz; countable mı uncountable mı olduğunu belirle.
- Yazma: 3–5 cümlelik kısa bir paragraf yaz: For breakfast, I have some bread and cheese. I drink a glass of milk. I don't eat any sugar.
